The Alabama Griffin Griffith Poultry Show is a popular event, and for good reason. The show features high-quality poultry raised by poultry producers. Students participating in the poultry commodity program learn about the industry and how to raise quality chickens. The show also features a chick chain auction to benefit Northeast Alabama 4-H.
The Northeast Alabama 4-H Chick Chain Show and Auction is one of the highlights of the year for the region’s 4-H clubs. The show features a variety of chicken breeds that kids ages nine to 18 can choose from. It is also an educational experience.
This show has two main purposes: to educate the public about 4-H poultry production projects and to raise and sell chickens. It also teaches youth about record-keeping and business practices. In addition, the project contributes to home food security. To participate, participants must complete an application and a 4-H membership form.
