The Cloverdale Citrus Fair began in 1893 as a citrus show. The first meeting of the Citrus Fair Association was held in 1893. In those days, Cloverdale was known for its lemon and orange orchards. However, successive frosts eventually put an end to the commercial citrus industry.

It was relocated to the current site at Citrus Fair Drive in 1951. Today, the Cloverdale Citrus Fair is still a vital part of Cloverdale’s community.
