The judges of the Illinois Whiteside County Fair Poultry show are a panel of four poultry experts from the state. The fair took place July 8-10 at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds. Katie Selburg brought her young son George to the show, where he was able to name the chickens he saw. He named them Tiny, Best Friend, Mac and Cheese, and Dancer.
The four-H poultry program of the Whiteside County Fair held their show July 7 and 8. The results were announced this week and blue ribbons were awarded to four poultry exhibitors, one champion, and two alternates for the state fair. The show also crowned the winner of the Outstanding Presenter competition. The four-H 4-H program was also recognized for its excellent 4-H programs, which included the poultry club.
Among the delegates are Ashlee Dirks, Sarah Fisher, Rachel Arnold, and Allie Huizenga. The junior sheep showmanship event was won by Kaleb Medema. Other state fair delegates include Dustin Dirks, Cory Anderson, and John Webb.
